While a lot of potty training tips are universal for both boys and girls, there are a few potty training tips that are particularly useful for boys. Here are a few of them to help you potty train your little man.

The Male Role Model
One of the best ways for a little boy to get the idea about potty training is to watch another male. Have Dad take his son into the bathroom and show him the ropes.

Target Practice
Use little pieces of toilet paper or cheerios to teach your little boy to aim in the toilet. This isn't nearly as easy of a tasks as you may think at first.

Obviously it's important for your little one to learn to aim into the toilet bowl and not slash pee all around it. The best way to accomplish this is to keep him focused at the task at hand. To do this have him aim at a small target. Tear up a piece of toilet paper and draw a target on it. Then float it in the water in the bottom of the bowl. An other idea is to drop a cheerio in the water and let him aim at it.

Give Him A Boost
If your boy is just a little bit too short to comfortably pee standing up, stand behind him and let him stand on your feet. This works particularly well if you are out and about. At home, you can keep a small step stool by the toilet for him to use.

Make It A Habit Now
Now is also the perfect time to teach your son to put the seat back down after he is done peeing. It will easily become a habit if you start insisting he does it now and any future girls in his life will appreciate you for it.
